Pistachio and almond supplier selects software to enable real-time tracking of inventory, shipping and deliveries from warehouse and cold storage
Austin, TX — July 12, 2005 — Paramount Farms announced today that it is deploying ClearOrbit's Gemini Simplified Interface (G.SI) Suite for Oracle Process Manufacturing. Paramount Farms is the world's largest vertically integrated supplier of pistachios and almonds, managing 175,000 square feet of cold storage with up to 190 million pounds of capacity.
ClearOrbit's G.SI for Oracle Process Manufacturing (OPM) solution is designed to enable companies running OPM to leverage bar code, RF scanning and radio frequency identification (RFID) to improve inventory, warehousing and shipping operations.
Paramount Farms is now able to instantly access processing information, delivery dates, quality specs and the entire shipping schedule, commented Curtis Hudson, vice president of Logistics at Paramount Farms. When you handle, inventory and ship time-sensitive food products like pistachios and almonds, data accuracy with speed are the key ingredients to efficiently serving our customers, he explained. ClearOrbit enables us to bar-code every lot and track every step of our processing orders, including a tight match to our customer's packaging and shipping specifications. ClearOrbit's configurability and rules engine allow us to meet the needs of diverse business processes while retaining a standardized system architecture.
Because of ClearOrbit's integration to the Oracle enterprise data model, implementation costs are lower than other alternatives that rely on a third-party proprietary database. The Gemini solution was really plug and play' with Oracle, which allowed us to implement very quickly, added Hudson.
