New York — July 29, 2005 — Radio frequency identification specialist IconNicholson has formally joined the Symbol PartnerSelect program as an RFID partner, and the two companies are currently incorporating Symbol's XR400 reader into IconNicholson's Center of Excellence, which showcases technologies for improving supply chain and customer-facing operations.

Symbol is among a select group of partners featured in the Center, where ongoing development aims to contribute to superior performance of the technologies and applications on display.

"Our Center is an important means of refining products and solutions based on real user feedback," says Christopher Enright, chief technology officer of IconNicholson, "With its ability to host custom applications and its interoperability, the XR400 allows us to architect more agile systems that meet client needs today."

The two companies said they will continue to develop new RFID products and solutions, aiming to offer their customers technologies that increase workforce productivity, reduce operating costs and drive operational efficiencies.
