Global manufacturers set to use combined software to extend supply chain processes to partners around the globe

Detroit — August 30, 2005 — QAD Inc., a provider of enterprise applications for global manufacturers, and Sterling Commerce, a multi-enterprise collaboration company, today announced their partnership at the AutoTech Conference.

Through the partnership, QAD will offer global manufacturers the QAD Total eCommerce Solution, a set of software and services for implementation of B2B integration worldwide. The global e-commerce solution is pre-configured for QAD and Sterling solutions to work together, and offers implementation services and support from a QAD team with experience implementing QAD and Sterling technology.

The QAD Total eCommerce Solution builds on QAD's existing enterprise solutions, including MFG/PRO and EDI ECommerce, and includes professional services from the electronic data interchange (EDI) business practice within QAD Global Services.

As part of the QAD Total eCommerce Solution, QAD will resell Sterling Commerce's Gentran Integration Suite (GIS), which is a B2B suite for multi-enterprise collaboration, enabling companies to extend business and supply chain processes to partners around the globe.

"It is imperative that we align ourselves with partners that are committed to not only manufacturing excellence, but innovative solutions that help us collaborate with our global trading partners," said Justin Graham, president of Grakon International. "QAD's B2B solutions, coupled with their understanding of the global market, have allowed us to enable communication with our customers, both domestically and internationally, while planning and executing production in our integrated Asian facilities."

QAD and Sterling Commerce already provide solutions to mutual customers, such as SanDisk Corp., and QAD has gained expertise configuring its solutions in conjunction with Sterling Commerce technology for optimal set-up and functionality in an integrated e-commerce platform.

SanDisk, a supplier of flash memory data storage card products, said it uses QAD MFG/PRO enterprise software and Sterling Commerce GIS to ensure e-commerce with its business partners throughout the world. "Our business strategy requires frequent evaluation and identification of new, cost-effective processes — and the flexibility to engage those partners as quickly as possible so that we can go to market faster," said Jon Miller, EAI architect, SanDisk Corp. "Together, QAD and Sterling Commerce provide SanDisk with an e-commerce solution that we know we can extend to any business partner."
