Companies implement compliance solution for Target Stores' supplier Nordic Ware

Richardson, TX September 9, 2005 GlobeRanger, a provider of radio frequency identification (RFID), mobility and sensor-based software solutions, and SoftBrands, an enterprise software provider for manufacturing and hospitality businesses, today announced an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partnership for RFID solutions. SoftBrands is using Globe Ranger's iMotion edgeware platform to extend its existing solutions for RFID.

Nordic Ware is the first SoftBrands' customer to implement an RFID compliance solution based on the iMotion platform. Nordic Ware is a family-owned, American manufacturer of kitchenware products, including the original Bundt pan and the Micro-go-round. Nordic Ware installed this RFID solution at its distribution center in Minneapolis, Minn., in August 2005 to meet Target stores' compliance deadlines.

Beyond compliance, Nordic Ware is looking to increase product delivery accuracy and develop automated shipping processes, converting from existing manual operations. The company sees its early adoption of RFID technology as an advantage over competitors who have yet to deploy RFID as well as another means of collaborating with one of its key customers.
