El Paso Corp. to use Hyperion software for planning, forecasting and analysis
Santa Clara, CA — October 6, 2005 — El Paso Corp., a provider of natural gas and related energy products and owner of North America's largest natural gas pipeline system and one of North America's largest independent natural gas producers, has purchased Hyperion software to improve information flow, analysis and planning.
El Paso will use Hyperion Planning, a centralized, Web-based solution, for planning and forecasting. The company will also use Hyperion Essbase, an enterprise-class, real-time analytic infrastructure for financial and operational analysis, to better understand activity and variances within plans and budgets.
Deloitte Consulting LLP and ThinkFast, a Palladium company, will assist with the Hyperion software implementation.
"The two separate applications at the business unit level will improve our ability to meet the needs of our regulated and non-regulated operations," said Oscar Gonzalez, El Paso's chief information officer. "Additionally, the ability to provide corporate-level, consolidated projections is expected to enhance the accuracy of our forecasting abilities companywide."
