Venlo, Netherlands — November 4, 2005 — Danone Waters UK & Ireland Ltd., a subsidiary of the French-based multinational Groupe Danone, said this week it has appointed Schneider Logistics as its lead logistics provider for all UK movements of its bottled waters.

Danone Waters supplies more than 450 thousand tons annually of bottled waters, such as Evian and Volvic, to the UK's top supermarkets and other retail outlets.

Under the contract, Schneider Logistics will be responsible for delivery to customers from Danone Water's warehouses, selecting and managing haulers, and auditing and paying freight invoices.

Additionally, Schneider Logistics will provide Web-enabled reporting tools to measure key performance indicators. Shipments from Danone Waters' factory near Swansea are included in the remit, as are reverse logistics movements.

"We selected Schneider Logistics based on their established IT system and proven implementation processes," commented Henri-Xavier Benoist, supply chain director at Danone Waters. "We sought a partner who was a good cultural fit with Danone Waters highly motivated and driven to succeed."

Jason Denne, Schneider Logistics' director of business development and account management, said: "The Schneider model will deliver a number of important benefits to Danone Waters, including cost visibility, a more flexible supply chain and improved customer service. We are delighted to be partnering with a market leader in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) vertical."
