San Francisco — January 16, 2004 — Visa USA this week announced the availability of Visa Information Management, a Web portal service that offers visibility into procurement and payment data, as well as ramped up reporting tools for Visa commercial transactions.

The offering, which Visa said serves as a secure, centralized online repository for almost all payment-related data, is designed to for the private and public sector to better manage information and utilize payment-related data.

The Visa Information Management portal provides Visa's financial institutions with a Web-service technology to integrate Visa reporting tools into existing organizational processes. The service can be used either on its own or in conjunction with custom-developed solutions from Visa.

Visa said customers also have access to a customized user management feature for greater administrator control, and an integrated mailbox capability that allows employees to share reports, upload and download files, and convert documents into preferred formats. In addition, users are able to move securely among their various Visa reporting applications through a single ID and password system.

"The ability to access comprehensive data aggregation and reporting to support management decisions and enable continuous improvement of the procure-to-pay process is a recognized and ongoing goal for organizations," said Professor Richard Palmer, co-author of the 2003 Purchasing Card Benchmark Survey Results.
