SAIC to Use MRO Software's Strategic Asset Management

To include solutions for managed services program

Bedford, MA — February 12, 2004 — Science Applications International (SAIC), the nation's largest employee-owned research and engineering company, has selected MRO Software's MAXIMO and MAXIMO MainControl solutions to be included as part of its Integrated Services Management Center (ISMC) offerings.

Building on an existing agreement formalized by the firms in July of 2002, MRO Software and SAIC signed a managed services software license agreement which adds MRO Software's strategic asset management solutions, MAXIMO and MAXIMO MainControl, to SAIC's managed services portfolio.

SAIC said it would combine the asset management solutions with a range of other services and enterprise applications to offer single-source solutions to its customers on a global basis and in a range of industries, from energy to the telecommunications, health care and transportation industries.

MAXIMO, a J2EE component-based software solution, provides asset management, work management, materials management and purchasing capabilities. MRO Software said MAXIMO users are able to reduce inventory investments while ensuring parts availability and streamline the sourcing and contract management process.

In addition, MAXIMO MainControl provides customers with the physical, contractual and financial information required to track and manage IT assets through their entire lifecycle, mitigating the risk of compliance with contracts and facilitating IT planning.

"Our agreement with MRO Software enables us to expand the range of managed services that we can provide our customers," said Cheryl Louie, SAIC senior vice president. "Including MAXIMO in our managed services offerings can provide our customers with additional value and enable them to focus on their business, while we deliver systems that help them manage the assets that run their business."
