Cutting down on IT help, business users to create ad hoc reports with Noetix

Bellevue, WA February 18, 2004 Noetix Corp., a global infrastructure software provider, today announced that Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (TAIS) will use Noetix to transition all of its reports from its current enterprise resource planning (ERP) system to an Oracle Financials/ERP system.

Noetix added that it would accelerate the conversion of Toshiba's reporting environment and put real-time report development into the hands of the business user, saving IT resources.

"Noetix gives both IT staff and business users the ability to build reports easily and quickly," said Dave McDonald, vice president of Information Resources, TAIS. "This has allowed Toshiba to gain strategic advantage and to meet our reporting objectives without having to have prior experience working with Oracle database table structures."

Toshiba America said it is converting all business divisions from the ERP system it has been using for the last seven years to Oracle Financials. TAIS was tasked with transitioning numerous highly customized reports to Oracle within a tight timeframe and without compromising its business users' access to valuable data.

TAIS executives discovered Noetix after learning that one of its sister sites used Noetix during its ERP changeover. TAIS said that not only did Noetix enable the successful transition to Oracle reporting systems, but it also provided future return on investment by protecting those reports from change with future Oracle upgrades.

"Our sister site's chief information officer told me that purchasing Noetix was one of the best decisions she had ever made, so we decided to follow their lead," said Mark Loeffler, systems development manager, TAIS. "Although we don't plan to go live with Oracle until the spring, we have already begun building reports with Noetix and have seen a significant decrease in the amount of time it takes our business users to get the information they need to make valuable business decisions."
