Fashion apparel company taps provider to aggregate request for proposal activities

South Orange, NJ — March 9, 2004 — Leading fashion apparel company Liz Claiborne Inc. said it has entered into a perpetual service provider agreement to utilize EC Sourcing Group's FlexRFP [request for proposal] e-Sourcing solution.

Liz Claiborne Inc. said it would utilize the software's multiple format request for information (RFI) scoring process to review and approve new suppliers and to manage RFPs when negotiating purchasing of goods and services.

According to Patty Monopoli-Polise, purchasing manager for Liz Claiborne Inc., "In today's environment of limited personnel resources, FlexRFP will allow us to increase the number of categories we can focus on and aggregate our spending across locations into single RFP's, thereby increasing our efficiency and leverage."

Monopoli-Polise said Liz Claiborne decided to enter into this agreement after seeing the benefits of using FlexRFP during a three-month pilot phase.

"During our pilot, system ease of use was evident," she said. "Combined with reductions in cycle times and purchase price reductions, the decision to extend our relationship with EC Sourcing Group was easy when viewed on a [return on investment] basis."

Implementation and use of FlexRFP will be immediate to allow Liz Claiborne Inc. to continue experiencing the benefits that began during the pilot phase, EC Sourcing Group said.

Liz Claiborne Inc. designs and markets an extensive range of fashion apparel and accessories for women, men, teens, children and infants. The company also markets fragrances for women and men.
