Cupertino, CA — March 15, 2004 — Electro Scientific Industries Inc. (ESI), a global supplier of manufacturing equipment for customers in the semiconductor, passive components and electronic equipment markets, said it has chosen Movaris Certainty to manage the company's comprehensive Sarbanes-Oxley compliance initiative.

Movaris said its software would allow ESI to automate monitoring of compliance related tasks, which will be performed by many employees throughout the company.

ESI equipment is used in manufacturing critical components of advanced electronic devices used around the world, including cellular telephones, personal computers, digital cameras and PDAs. By selecting Certainty, ESI is going beyond meeting the minimum compliance requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley.

"Certainty allows us to build effective controls and monitor them without having to hire additional employees, driving down the overall cost of compliance."

Kurt Garbe, CEO of Movaris, said, "Certainty will help ESI automate key controls and collaborate with people around the world, ensuring that they achieve and maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance year after year."
