Provides asset management support specific to transportation industry
Bedford, MA — April 19, 2004 — Strategic asset management solutions provider MRO Software announced the availability of an enhanced asset management solution for the transportation industry, MAXIMO Transportation 5.2.
The MAXIMO Transportation solution is an extension of the Company's Strategic Asset Management solution, MAXIMO, and provides special capabilities targeted to the transportation industry, according to MRO Software.
This version adds capabilities that address specific transportation industry requirements, including modules for automated alerts, fleet asset information, campaigns, fuel management, industry codes, inventory enhancements, labor certification, meter history, and adjustments and warranty.
Additionally, MRO Software said MAXIMO Transportation can be implemented with partner solutions for linear assets and advanced planning and scheduling.

"As one of the nation's largest rapid transit systems, managing 103 miles of railways in four counties and more than 660 rail vehicles, having an Internet architecture was critical to deploying a cost effective asset management solution across a large metropolitan area."
MRO Software said the latest version of MAXIMO Transportation includes added functionality and can be used by existing MAXIMO customers that want to add the capability to manage fleets or other transportation assets. It is also an upgrade to the Fleet Manager solution currently used by many MRO Software customers.

MRO Software currently provides asset management solutions for 300 transportation customers, including more than 125 fleet customers and 50 rail and transit customers.
