Said to focus on special needs of vertical segment customers

Englewood, CO — April 28, 2004 — Arrow OEM Computing Solutions (OCS), the division of Arrow Electronics Inc. that provides integration, manufacturing, and supply chain management services to industrial original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and intellectual property-based companies, said it has formed two new business units for the medical and telecommunications industries.

The Arrow OCS Division said it formed its Medical Programs Business Unit and Telecommunication Business Unit to address the special needs of these focused vertical segment customers, allowing the company to concentrate on providing such technology and services as supply chain management, manufacturing and global logistics services.

Arrow said it already has experience with providing design, integration and global logistics in these verticals. For example, Arrow OCS provides the front-end supply chain, manufacturing and direct ship to end customers for Nortel's Contivity line of virtual private networks. It also does manufacturing and integration services for such medical companies as Siemens Medical, Beckman Coulter and GE Medical.

Chuck Kostalnick, vice president of sales, Arrow OCS, said, "The two new verticals will allow us to focus on bringing new customers on board that complement this segment and expand services for current customers. This is one more step in our efforts to be more consultative in developing breakthrough solutions for our customers."
