University set to electronically enable the bidding process

Research Triangle Park, NC — June 30, 2004 — SciQuest Inc. today announced that the University of Nevada, Reno, has chosen Sourcing Manager, the latest in the company's suite of on-demand supplier relationship management (SRM) modules.

SciQuest said the Sourcing Manager module allows procurement professionals to create, issue, monitor and award informal quotes and formal bid requests.

"After reviewing several alternatives, we chose SciQuest because of its ability to provide our organization with a total system," said Tom Judy, associate vice president, Business and Finance, at the University of Nevada, Reno. "After a successful implementation of SciQuest's HigherMarket e-procurement solution, we were confident that they would be able to deliver a quality solution to meet our sourcing needs."

Ray Moran, director of purchasing, added, "By electronically enabling our bidding process, we expect to expand the number of participating suppliers, increase savings and track our spending through its extensive reporting capabilities. In addition, SciQuest's suite of solutions will allow for easy integration between bidding and the purchasing process."

Sourcing Manager is an on-demand bid management solution. SciQuest said the solution streamlines the creation and issue of bid requests, supplier response submissions and awarding of bids. The module can be integrated with SciQuest's e-procurement solution to provide seamless data transfer from requisition to bid request and from bid award to purchase order, or it can be used as a standalone solution.

"We are thrilled that customers such as the University of Nevada, Reno, continue to turn to SciQuest to meet their growing needs," said Stephen Wiehe, president and CEO at SciQuest. "We are committed to helping our customers manage spend across their entire organization, by offering them tools to capture and manage a significantly larger portion of that spend."
