Gaithersburg, MD — July 2, 2004 — The Kroger Co. has selected B2B integration solutions provider Global eXchange Services (GXS) as a preferred provider of collaborative transaction services for its electronic data interchange (EDI) community.

Developed by GXS, the new generation Transaction Delivery Service is a real-time transaction platform that provides a menu of features such as supply chain collaboration, order visibility, multiple communication protocols, functional acknowledgement management, and exception alerts.

By using the GXS Transaction Delivery Service, the provider said retailers and their suppliers will be able to more accurately track orders and shipments while also experiencing higher fulfillment rates, better inventory management and lower operational costs.

"Global eXchange Services' comprehensive features and functionalities continue to be a critical differentiator as retailers consider strategies for reducing the cost of doing business," said Bobby Patrick, Global eXchange Services' senior vice president of marketing. "We are pleased to be working with Kroger and their suppliers to demonstrate the enormous value that companies can achieve with our new generation Transaction Delivery Service."

Operating one of the largest B2B e-commerce networks in the world, Global eXchange Services helps manage 1 billion transactions annually.
