Faultless Starch/Bon Ami to improve data integration across enterprise systems for better competitiveness, operational efficiency
Kansas City, MO September 11, 2003 The Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Co. has selected enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution provider CMS Manufacturing Systems to install an enterprise software system for better management of Faultless Starch's consumer and commercial goods manufacturing and shipping operations.
The CMS400 system to be installed at Faultless Starch features wireless bar code data collection, electronic data interchange (EDI)/Release Accounting, real-time shop-floor reporting, advanced planning and scheduling, and tooling and maintenance integration, among other capabilities.
As a leading producer of starch and cleaning products, Faultless Starch manufactures more than 1,000 individual product stock-keeping units (SKUs). Because almost all of these products are low unit cost and produced to stock, sophisticated inventory management is essential, according to the manufacturer.
With the CMS solution, Faultless Starch said it would be able to produce special bar code labeling and pallet configurations to meet the unique requirements of its customers in the grocery, mass merchandising, and lawn and garden retail segments.
"The CMS solutions will make it possible for us to integrate data across all of our systems in real time," stated Helen Garvin, vice president, Logistics and Systems, Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Co. "These advanced capabilities will give us a much more efficient way to meet the unique requirements of our customers."
Gavin added that her company felt CMS was the closest fit because of the breadth of its product and the ease of implementation. "We are very impressed with CMS400 in large part because it gives us an effective dashboard to provide immediate connection between the manufacturing floor and our executive decision-makers," she said.
