Automaker's testing ensures that suppliers using provider's enterprise resource planning system meet specs for just-in-time manufacturing

Paso Robles, CA — November 24, 2004 — Enterprise resource planning (ERP) specialist IQMS has completed the electronic data interchange (EDI) certification process for Honda North America, the solution provider reported this week.

Honda's testing and certification process ensures that suppliers meet the automaker's specifications for just-in-time manufacturing with seamless communication and data integration. IQMS, which provides solutions for repetitive, discrete manufacturers, completed the multi-step test procedure to test its EnterpriseIQ ERP software in less than six months.

"Our customers rely on EnterpriseIQ, and receiving this certification demonstrates our commitment to their success," said Randy Flamm, president of IQMS. "Honda's certification of EnterpriseIQ's EDI capabilities underscores the quality of what the software delivers."

EDI and bar coding capabilities are a core module of the EnterpriseIQ ERP system, which also features real-time data collection, shop floor and quality modules, IQMS said. Using a single database, EnterpriseIQ gives manufacturers the ability to manage operations, even across multiple plants, multiple languages and multiple currencies, with one system, according to the solution provider.

Commented Mike Hopkins, senior programmer analyst at IQMS customer and Honda supplier London Industries, based in London, Ohio: "Using Honda-certified software shows that we are committed to providing a high level of service to Honda and our other automotive customers. It is our goal to not only meet, but exceed Honda's standards as a quality supplier to the auto maker, and EnterpriseIQ allows us to do that."

London Industries has used EnterpriseIQ since 2003.
