Business process management specialist opens London office, names sales director for EMEA
Vienna, VA September 30, 2003 HandySoft Global Corporation, a provider of business process management (BPM) solutions, has opened a London office to head up the company's operations in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The company named Wendy Cohen as director of sales for EMEA. Cohen, who brings 18 years of sales and marketing experience at companies such as Open Text, Enigma and GOAL, will report to George Bennett, vice president of international sales for HandySoft.
As director of sales for EMEA, Cohen will build on HandySoft's inroads with existing European customers using its BizFlow BPM platform, such as Continental Teves and Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group.
HandySoft is working to expand its presence in the European BPM market, which represents just over a fifth of a global market that is predicted to grow to some $6.32 billion by 2005, according to the Aberdeen Group.
"With the increasing demand of BPM on a global level, we needed to not only establish an office for the EMEA region, but also to bring in a seasoned executive to support the needs of our existing and future customers," said Stuart Claggett, chief operating officer for HandySoft. "By adding an executive with years of experience in selling to leading global financial institutions, European manufacturing companies and the U.K. government, we anticipate accelerating our continued international growth, especially within the financial services sector."
"Many of HandySoft's customers are global and have operations in the EMEA regions," said Cohen. "By establishing an office in the U.K., we are contributing to their continued success in global marketplaces and are able to provide them additional support and services."
Joe Comunale, program manager of Continental Teves, a provider of brakes and electronic steering systems, noted that his company has been using HandySoft's BizFlow in its North American engineering operations, including Mexico, to help streamline the process surrounding the exchange of complex engineering documents.
"Building on the success that we have had by using BizFlow, we are considering implementing it for other global operations at Continental Teves," Comunale said. "And, since our company headquarters are based in Germany, having a European connection with HandySoft will help us greatly as we move forward in using its BPM technology."
