G-Log software serves as foundation for operating platform

Philadelphia and Shelton, CN — October 2, 2003 — BDP International (BDP) and G-Log today announced the phased deployment of G-Log's Global Command and Control Center (GC3) software as a component of the BDP Xpedion unified operating platform.

According to the companies, the release is one step in the BDP Xpedion project to build a Web-based operating and IT infrastructure to manage all international shipments in one place. G-Log and BDP also announced progress in their intellectual capital sharing agreement to build the architecture of a global business application that enables third-party logistics providers to manage everything from order placement through shipment execution and freight settlement via a single operating environment.

With the GC3 deployment, BDP said it would introduce the first phase of carrier rate management onto its Xpedion operating platform this fall. For longer-term delivery, BDP and G-Log are jointly designing and developing additional 3PL export/import functionality for GC3 to integrate all parties involved in the export/import logistics process and manage all global shipments for all clients in one Web-native environment.

"We have long recognized that placing technology assets in the hands of personnel is a matter of competitive necessity for global logistics companies that want to deliver broad-based savings and ultimate value for customers," stated BDP International president Richard Bolte, Jr.

He added that his company is continuing to pool its strengths with G-Log into a 3PL business application to process more freight.

"Working with BDP, we are privileged to tap their domain expertise," said David Cairns, CEO, G-Log. "Through this single platform, multiple users with varying objectives can collaborate and benefit from proactive management of complex international transportation and logistics processes."
