Steelwedge Introduces OnDemand Solution

Hosted service designed to improve planning, performance management

Pleasanton, CA — December 7, 2004 — Steelwedge, a provider of enterprise planning and performance management software, today announced the availability of Steelwedge OnDemand, a hosted software management service. Steelwedge said OnDemand helps manufacturers assess market demand; align customer, product, inventory, production and business plans; and monitor enterprise performance.

Industry veteran J. Tom Mentzer, Ph.D., Department of Marketing and Logistics, University of Tennessee, developed statistical forecasting methodologies that are used in the OnDemand service, which Steelwedge said enables companies to benefit from improved planning and performance management.

After having been tested at various Fortune 500 firms, the software has shown that it increases the accuracy of product forecasts by integrating sales funnel opportunities, managing new product introductions and product lifecycles, and through cross-functional input, according to Steelwedge.

The provider said that traditional business planning systems often require a significant upfront investment of IT resources, time and money. However, OnDemand is a hosted software service that can be implemented with minimal customer IT involvement and no large upfront investment.
