Implementation of software provides improvements in efficiency and bottom-line ROI

Waterloo, Ontario — December 4, 2003 — RSS Solutions Inc. announced the implementation of their Advanced Planning, Scheduling and Execution (APS) solution by Quadrel Labeling systems. The labeling machine manufacturer in North America is using the solution to improve bottom-line production efficiency, overcoming limitations of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system in use prior to the RSS solution.

Historically, Quadrel said it used an ERP system with supplementary spreadsheets and manual scheduling processes that was not meeting the needs of their complex production environment. They required a fully automated solution that could improve their quoting process, on-time deliveries and overall shop floor productivity. Therefore, the company said it evaluated the planning and scheduling module offered by its ERP vendor, and after doing benchmark comparisons with the RSS solution, Quadrel selected RSS.

"We selected RSS Solutions' powerful Advanced Planning, Scheduling & Execution technology because of its "what-if" modeling engine and proven track record," said Steve Turoczy, operations manager at Quadrel Labeling Systems. "Quadrel is now using the RSS solution to plan, predict and control our complex production environment. As a result, we have real-time visibility into job status, the ability to conduct "what-if" analysis, as well as sophisticated capacity planning."
