Manufacturer turns to enterprise content management platform to archive content, foster collaboration

Pleasanton, CA — December 9, 2003 — AstenJohnson, a manufacturer of paper machine clothing, specialty fabrics, filaments and drainage equipment, has selected enterprise content management (ECM) solutions from Documentum as a platform for archiving the company's content and fostering collaboration.

With more than 200 years of experience, AstenJohnson is the second-largest paper machine clothing (PMC) manufacturer in North America, with customers in 28 countries. The company's products help the major papermakers around the world create various types of paper, such as fine writing paper, tissue, brown paper bags, cardboard boxes and newsprint.

AstenJohnson will implement Documentum 5, the latest version of the Documentum ECM platform, and Documentum eRoom 7, Documentum's enterprise collaboration solution.

The company plans to use the Documentum solutions to create, manage, deliver and archive the content that runs its business, foster collaborative business processes and facilitate the execution of the enterprise's programs and projects.

"AstenJohnson selected Documentum because of the completeness of the platform," said Marc Pujda, chief information officer for AstenJohnson. Pujda said that Documentum would be used throughout the company, with the expectation that it would improve the company's productivity and help AstenJohnson to control costs.

"Using Documentum eRoom to support our business practices and processes that span the globe, with the ability to store that collaborative content in the Documentum ECM platform, will help us quickly realize new levels of operational efficiency," Pujda added.
