Campbell, CA June 27, 2001 Camstar, a provider of collaborative manufacturing execution (CME) solutions, today announced that it has acquired the supply chain consulting and services practice of Unifi Technology Group, a consultancy and systems integrator for the manufacturing industry, and formed Camstar Solutions Group. The acquisition aims to expand Camstar's footprint in collaborative manufacturing sector and strengthen its ability to offer complete solutions across multi-plant manufacturing enterprises.
As a result of the acquisition, Unifi Technology's supply chain consulting and services practice is now a new business unit of Camstar, called Camstar Solutions Group. The new unit will continue to operate from the former Unifi Technology offices in Charlotte, N.C. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
"We rely on third-party systems integrators to deploy our InSite product around the world," said Dave Cone, president and CEO of Camstar. "This acquisition allows us to provide our third party integrators with best-practices tools, templates and methodologies developed by Unifi Technology, and now offered through Camstar Solutions Group.
