Version 6 adds features to accelerate deployment, offers modules for analysis in new subject areas

Redwood City, CA — June 24, 2003 — Business intelligence specialist Informatica this week released the latest version of its flagship Analytics software, which includes new features intended to accelerate the deployment of subject-specific data warehouses and ensure flexible customization of these analytic solutions.

Informatica said that the new modules and upgraded features in version 6 of Analytics will allow companies to more rapidly implement solutions specific to their individual business requirements.

This new version of Analytics includes infrastructure enhancements, such as source-specific business adapters with pre-built data-extract mappings for such systems as Ariba, Avaya, i2, Oracle, Siebel, SAP and PeopleSoft.

In addition, version 6 expands upon Analytics' current subject areas — customer relationship, finance, human resources and supply chain — by adding new components to support the reporting and analysis of contact centers, product warrantee and quality information, sales and operation planning, sales force performance, spend analysis and public sector financial requirements.

Brian Queenin, vice president and global practice leader for business intelligence at systems integrator Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, said the firm opted to use Informatica's analytics infrastructure for its Chief Procurement Officer Solution Set because of the solution's rapid deployability. "Informatica Analytics 6 provides a pre-built infrastructure, yet remains flexible enough to help our clients leverage their existing [information technology] investments," Queenin said.

Chet Phillips, IT director at Motorola, said the Informatica solution has enabled the company's global supply management group to access and analyze critical spend information, helping Motorola to improve supplier performance and optimize sourcing events. "We rely on this solution every day to make effective decisions," Phillips said.
