Supply chain execution specialist eyes product development, possible acquisitions to expand solution footprint

Atlanta — August 27, 2004 — Supply chain execution (SCE) specialist MARC Global has completed its latest round of funding, with the new funds targeted at product development and growth efforts, as well as possible acquisitions to expand its solution footprint.

The latest round was funded entirely by existing investors, which the provider said was a vote of confidence in the company's new leadership and its plans for continued growth.

"This financing further supports our ongoing product development, vision and growth strategy focused on helping our customers optimize their unique networks of connections between supply and demand," said Oliver Cooper, CEO of MARC Global. "We continue to develop innovative and robust solutions that advance the science and management of complex and dynamic supply chain operations resulting in improved cash flow, service-driven revenue growth and optimization of labor, space and inventory."

MARC said it is growing in large part due to the reception of its recently released MARC Suite, a new family of products offering transaction processing capabilities and an architecture designed specifically to handle radio frequency identification (RFID) and other supply chain requirements.

"Customer's continue to be impressed by the MARC Global strategy of integrating and simplifying the critical components throughout the supply chain," said Bernie Brennan, director and senior advisor of the board of directors at MARC. "MARC's move toward one seamless management system, coupling demand with supply, demonstrates the company's movement from a warehouse management system (WMS) to a comprehensive SCE system."

"Integration of emerging technologies, such as RFID with intelligent performance multidimensional analytics and reporting, allow us to support customers in a wide variety of industries in making their warehouse and supply chain operations more efficient and cost-effective," added Cooper. "The completion of this funding ensures that we will continue to aggressively develop, acquire and implement the most adaptable and capable best-of breed suite of products in the industry."

MARC said it is actively pursuing acquisition opportunities in order to continue to broaden its supply chain suite in areas such as transportation management systems and inventory deployment.
