Ethiopian Airlines Makes Big Investment in Air Cargo

Ethiopian Airlines adds five new freighters to its fleet to capitalize on near-term cargo demand.

There are many investments happening throughout the supply chain as companies try to both stay resilient against continued disruption and also capitalize on growing demand. Ethiopian Airlines makes plans to grow its air cargo fleet to lean into the need for freight, specifically near-term cargo demand and angle itself for positive future growth. The five new planes are Boeing 777 Freighters. 

Per PR Newswire: 

  • Ethiopian Airlines operates a fleet of nine 777 Freighters, utilizing the model's range of 4,970 nautical miles (9,200 km) and maximum structural payload of 107 tons (235,900 lbs) to connect Africa with 66 dedicated cargo centers throughout Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the Americas.
