WESCO International announced Tuesday it will use the cloud-based Descartes Route Planner on-demand solution to help customer enhance delivery services and supply chain performance.
Descartes’ cloud-based routing and mobile solutions platform gives companies the opportunity to optimize route plans, manage dispatch operations and track trucks and drivers in real time. As a result, companies can reduce transportation costs, improve delivery performance and improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
“Partnering with Descartes is a critical part of how we are optimizing our last mile delivery routes to drive efficiency and reduce transportation costs,” said Hemant Porwal, Vice President Global Supply Chain and Operations at WESCO International, in a press release from WESCO.
WESCO’s annual sales were at approximate $8.2 billion, and customers include commercial and industrial businesses, contractors, government agencies, institutions, telecommunications providers and utilities.
