Acquisition builds on Infor's discrete manufacturing customer base, strengthens presence in industry verticals
Atlanta — October 20, 2004 — Enterprise software provider Infor Global Solutions has acquired Lilly Software Associates, which offers a line of enterprise and supply chain solutions for manufacturers and distributors, adding to Infor's discrete manufacturing customer base and strengthening its presence in several industry verticals.
In a statement, Infor said that by adding Hampton, N.H.-based Lilly's solutions, domain expertise and global locations to its existing capabilities, Infor has become one of the largest providers of software solutions to the discrete manufacturing market.
Atlanta-based Infor already claims more than 13,000 customers in select manufacturing and distribution industries. The company has 1,800 employees working in 30 offices globally. Lilly, founded in 1992, provides vertical market solutions for discrete manufacturers. The company has a global customer base of over 3,000 users.
Lilly will join Infor's discrete manufacturing group, which is led by Robin Pederson, senior vice president of Infor, and will continue to operate in its existing locations. Both Infor and Lilly are privately held companies. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
In a company statement, Jim Schaper, chairman and CEO of Infor, said that his company is already recognized as one of the largest providers of solutions to discrete manufacturers in Europe.
"This acquisition, combined with our existing presence in the North American automotive market, further expands our footprint while broadening our vertical market focus in the aerospace, defense and electronics industries, among others," Schaper said.
Infor said it is committed to serving Lilly's customers and continuing the development of Lilly's technology. "We are committed to taking care of our customers with ongoing product enhancements and outstanding customer service," said Pederson. "Lilly's customers will benefit from Infor's deep focus on discrete manufacturing, global reach and financial strength while gaining a long-term partner committed to long-term investment in product development."
