Avnet Names Phil Gallagher CEO

Avnet, Inc. a leading global technology distributor, announced that the company’s board of directors has named 37-year Avnet veteran Phil Gallagher as its chief executive officer, effective immediately. Gallagher, who has been in the role of interim CEO of Avnet since August 2020, has also been appointed to the company’s board of directors.

Executives from Google and eBay Join GS1 US Board of Governors

GS1 US has appointed the following executives to the GS1 US board of governors: Charles Schafer, Ph.D., engineering director, Google; and Yossi Zomet, vice president, product and engineering, eBay, Inc. The new Board members will help guide the GS1 US strategy to support members’ use of GS1 Standards for e-commerce, supply chain visibility and product traceability and to help meet growing consumer demand for detailed and accurate product information. They join a cross-industry Board of Governors representing companies in apparel, general merchandise, retail grocery, foodservice and healthcare.

TM Insight Hires Top Global Ecommerce Executives

TM Insight reveals Nicole Scherholz Cipolla, Jan Becker and Mitch Bittermann, former executives at Global Fashion Group, Zalora and adidas, are joining TM Insight to lead its new ecommerce and digital team. Cipolla was most recently group senior strategy director at Global Fashion Group. Jan Becker is the former director of brand marketing and consumer strategy at Zalora and vice president of marketing at Central Group Online, part of Thailand’s largest retail conglomerate. Mitch Bittermann, most recently director of e-commerce Southeast Asia at adidas, is a recognized leader of ecommerce and logistics strategies.

Cipolla and Becker join TM Insight as executive directors of e-commerce, based in Australia, and Mitch Bittermann joins as executive vice president of e-commerce for TM Insight Asia, based in Singapore. Together they will lead TM Insight’s ecommerce and digital offering across the Asia-Pacific region, working with TM Insight’s broader supply chain and property consulting business to provide businesses a true end-to-end service offering in their retail and supply chain transformations.

Sesotec Appoints New CEO

Bavarian company Sesotec GmbH appointed Joachim Schulz as its new CEO. With the expiration of his three-year contract, former CEO Marc Setzen will depart from the company, a manufacturer of technology for foreign object detection, material sorting and analysis.

Schulz assumes the role of Sesotec CEO with decades of experience in international business management, including leadership positions in the automotive, electrical engineering, construction supplies, mechanical engineering, and advanced plant construction industries.

AppHarvest Hires Nissan’s Travis Parman as Chief Communications Officer

AppHarvest announced Travis Parman will join the AgTech leader as chief communications officer, reporting to founder & CEO Jonathan Webb.

An Appalachian native, Parman joins AppHarvest after serving in a number of global communications roles since 2012 in Paris, Tokyo and Nashville with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance — most recently as vice president for Nissan Americas and president of the Nissan Foundation.

Dunnhumby Names Grant Steadman as President of North America

Dunnhumby, the global leader in customer data science, announced the appointment of Grant Steadman to president of North America. In his new leadership position, Steadman will focus on growing and expanding partnerships with retailers and brands throughout the region and will report directly to Marc Fischli, chief client officer of dunnhumby. Steadman takes over the role from Jose Gomes, who leaves dunnhumby to join Google Cloud as managing director of U.S. Retail Industry Sales.

Stoecklin Logistics Bolsters North American Business Development Team

Stoecklin Logistics, a supplier of innovative supply chain solutions, has hired Sabrina Nissen as business development & administration manager for the U.S. and Canada market. Reporting to Damaris Grütter, director of U.S. & Canada, Nissen will support Stoecklin’s sales, marketing, operations and deployment teams in North America.

AIM Announces New Board of Directors Members
