Knoxville, Tenn.—August 29, 2013—The University of Tennessee, has been approved by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) to provide continuing education credits for its members.
CSCMP recently endorsed UT to offer credits through its Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) program. ACEP is designed to be a registry of continuing education providers that have been approved by CSCMP based on their delivery of high-quality programs and courses to supply chain management and logistics professionals.
Individuals who received their CSCMP Pro certification are able to attend UT's supply chain management courses to earn the minimum 60 hours of continuing education credits needed to maintain certification. A three-day course at UT fulfills 18 to 20 hours, depending on the course.
Participants in the UT courses also can earn their UT Supply Chain Management Certification.
"We are excited to be partnering with the University of Tennessee," said Kathleen Hedland, CSCMP director of education and research. "Now those who have received their SCPro certifications will have the opportunity to earn continuing education units (CEUs) at this world-class institution. Our CEUs are only given for solid supply chain educational content, and UT meets those needs and more."
UT was the first university to offer supply chain management certification, and is the only university globally that offers programs in vested outsourcing and performance-based logistics. UT's supply chain faculty is ranked No.1 globally for research productivity.
