CHICAGO and MILFORD, Conn., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Commerx announced today that Schick Wilkinson Sword (SWS) will utilize Commerx eBuy, an e-procurement solution in a hosted environment, to manage and track its enterprise-wide e-procurement processes. The agreement also calls for Commerx to integrate the Commerx eBuy solution with the company's business processes, allowing all procurement information to be shared across the organization.
SWS, a vertically-integrated company, will utilize Commerx eBuy for the purchase of the direct, indirect and MRO materials and supplies it needs to produce such household brands as the Protector(R), XtremeIII(R), FxDiamond(R), Tracer FX(R) and Silk Effects(R) razors. Utilizing CommerxNet, a private Internet messaging service, SWS and its trading partners will be able to send and receive purchasing information over a secure and reliable network, ensuring optimal efficiency and supplier relationships.
Bob Roman, director of purchasing, said the company chose to work with Commerx to improve its competitive position with a streamlined, automated purchasing solution that would strengthen supplier relationships, reduce inventories, lower procurement and product costs and shorten purchase cycle times.
"We've worked to strengthen our competitive edge by investing in our manufacturing infrastructure to make higher quality products faster and less expensively. We expect the Commerx eBuy solution to provide similar improvements in quality, speed and efficiency to our supply chain processes," said Roman. "In addition, when Commerx integrates eBuy with our ERP, we expect even more efficiency in our back-office processes."
