VerticalNet Markets, a strategic business unit of B2B e-commerce enabler VerticalNet Inc., today announced the formation of VerticalNet BizWorks to provide horizontal business services for VerticalNet customers. Packaged service suites will be available in an ASP format and be made available to VerticalNet customers on a subscription basis.
Each customer will be able to select the set of services they desire and access these services through the VerticalNet interface or a digital dashboard available from their desktop. VerticalNets expertise in leveraging e-commerce and Web-based technologies will allow companies to improve operational efficiencies, lower operating costs and drive more of their business to the Web.
VerticalNet BizWorks first suite of products, VerticalNet PeopleTools, targets the needs of HR professionals and includes solutions to find and train employees. Additional services will be added in the coming quarters. Traditional outsourcing and ASP markets are large and rapidly growing business segments, said Walter Rogers, vice president and general manager of VerticalNet BizWorks. Our offerings bundle various infrastructure, application, hosting and processing services designed to solve many of the day-to-day operational issues faced by our customers.
