SupplyAccess wins e-procurement contract for LA Airports

LOS ANGELES  December 11, 2000 -- BUSINESS WIRE --  SupplyAccess, which offers automated e-procurement hosted software in the IT and indirect goods markets, scored a three-year contract with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA).


LAWA is the government agency that runs Los Angeles International, Ontario International, Van Nuys and Palmdale Airports. Other city Departments will be able to leverage this contract to automate and improve their procurement processes.


SupplyAccess is creating a private marketplace where LAWA's bidding process can be automated for all vendors. An automated workflow schedule to replace the existing paper-based workflow.  More than 250 catalogs of both IT and MRO products from approved vendors will be hosted.


Eyad Shahibi, director of Information Technology for the Los Angeles World Airports, said: "LAWA has very aggressive growth plans to support the exploding passenger and cargo traffic in Southern California. To keep pace, an efficient e-procurement system is an absolute necessity."
