Philadelphia, PA BUSINESS WIRE December 13, 2000 Biztravel.com recently partnered with Nextel Communications, making its unwired e-commerce travel services available on Nextel's Web-enabled mobile phones. This means that mobile users with Nextel's Wireless Internet Services will be able to book air, rental car, and hotel reservations on their phone. Nextel is the first telecommunications carrier to include Biztravel in its service since Biztravel launched its mobile phone capabilities on November 1, 2000.
Wireless communications devices are an invaluable asset for today's business traveler, who is often required to make last-minute travel arrangements, says Suzanne Zapf, VP Strategy Development of biztravel.com. Biztravel's unwired services can be found in the travel category of Nextel's mobile phones. But it can do more than make reservations. Biztravel's programs also include bizAlerts, which offers users real-time messaging regarding flight status, departure gates, terminal assignments, and weather conditions in one's destination city. In addition, Nextel Online subscribers will also have Biztravel Guarantee, which compensates travelers for their inconveniences.
Greg Santoro, vice president of Nextel's Internet and wireless services, praised Biztravel's customer service and user-friendly mobile platform. He added, Biztravel unwired specifically addresses the needs of our customers and we feel that this partnership will offer them an unmatched mobile travel experience.
