CAMBRIDGE, Mass. and SAN FRANCISCO -- December 19, 2000 -- Business Wire -- Art Technology Group Inc. (ATG), developer of the ATG Dynamo e-Business Platform for online customer management; and Moai Technologies, a provider of e-commerce infrastructure for online negotiation solutions today announced a strategic alliance to bring ATG Dynamo and Moai's LiveExchange to Global 2000 companies that want to build public and private B2B marketplaces. By working with customers to integrate ATG Dynamo and LiveExchange, buy side and sell side users will be able to shorten time to market and speed return on investment for online transactions, such as providing structured negotiations for strategic sourcing and selling, and integrated solutions for forward and reverse auctions.
ATG's customer management platform, paired with Moai's online negotiations solutions, will create a B2B application for both spot purchases and strategic sourcing. By licensing technology from both ATG and Moai along with pre-developed integration strategies, joint B2B enterprise customers will be able to deploy ATG Dynamo e-Business Scenarios to build e-commerce infrastructure and order management, and use LiveExchange to automate online procurement through auctions and reverse auctions. The ATG and Moai alliance will give customers customized online exchanges for B2B relationships.
Any company looking to move their established business practices to the Web demands that the migration be efficient and deliver a quick return on investment, said Matt Miller, CEO and president of Moai. Through this alliance, Moai and ATG will provide both suppliers and buyers with the tools necessary to bring their procurement strategies online, while promoting one-on-one business relationships.
ATG Dynamo and LiveExchange share a similar architecture, which will promote smoother integration for customers. Both ATG Dynamo and LiveExchange are Java-based environments with scalable and open architectures based on definable business rules. This architecture successfully provides the functionality of an application with the flexibility of a standards-based platform.
Personalized business relationships are just as critical online as they are in the offline world, said Jeet Singh, CEO of ATG. Working together with Moai we're able to offer companies engaged in online B2B commerce the ability to enhance loyal business relationships while realizing all the efficiencies and consistencies of conducting business online.
