TORRANCE, CA January 5, 2001 Agribuys, a supply chain solution provider for the food industry, recently named Rajesh Shah as their new vice president of systems engineering and integration. He will be based in Agribuys' Southern California office, and will lead their efforts to develop end-to-end integration for its food industry supply chain partners.
Shah comes to Agribuys from CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation), where he served as a member of their Consulting Group. There, he was responsible for identifying, evaluating and selecting net market tools, building Internet architecture, integrating back-end systems, and developing technical roadmaps that mirror business roadmaps for B2B and B2C clients.
In his new role, Shah will work with Agribuys' executive team to deliver both operational and strategic leadership. He will drive the implementation of Agribuys' integration services, and direct its globalization and standardization programs.
Rajesh's unique background as an engineer, programmer and e-commerce integration consultant makes him the perfect choice to head our efforts to deliver the food industry's only fully integrated, end-to-end solution, said Dhruba Kalita, Agribuys' co-founder, executive vice president and CTO.
In addition to working at CSC, Shah also served as the technical manager at Oracle, where he was responsible for implementation, integration and consulting services. Prior to that, he worked at EDS (Electronic Data Systems) as a senior consulting engineer.
I was attracted to Agribuys by the decisiveness of its executive team, the speed with which it implements new technology, and its visionary business plan that focuses clearly on supply chain integration to help optimize the food procurement and distribution process globally, said Shah. This is an outstanding opportunity for me to join a team that is extremely well positioned in this emerging market.
Rajesh earned a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, India. He also has completed several graduate courses in Computer Science at Wayne State University.
