Rockleigh, NJ March 28, 2001 The Volvo Cars Monitoring and Concept Center (VMCC) Wednesday announced it will deploy a collaborative design application from Centric Software, allowing geographically dispersed teams to work together to define, synthesize and validate concepts.
VMCC, Volvo's think tank, tests new techniques and tools such as Centric Innovation, assessing their value for the parent company, which can then implement successful processes across the organization when viable.
Volvo is betting that Centric Innovation will help fuel the creative process at VMCC and will enable the center to focus on design while outsourcing projects as needed to its global partners.
"We are tremendously creative here at VMCC," said Lars Jansson, VMCC's general manager. "Centric Innovation enables us to maximize our creativity as well as the expertise of our extended team and existing resources, while minimizing costly delays."
Volvo Cars of North America is part of the Volvo Car Corp. of Goteborg, Sweden. The company provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to the 328 Volvo automobile retailers in the United States and 43 in Canada.
