Dallas and Memphis, TN May 24, 2001 FreightMatrix, Inc., a provider of global online logistics and a subsidiary of i2 Technologies has selected Taiwan-based LogiMatrix as its Greater China partner. LogiMatrix will provide FreightMatrix services to shippers, carriers, and logistics service providers in the region, while jointly developing other markets throughout Asia using the name FreightMatrix Greater China.
FreightMatrix develops and operates logistics marketplaces designed to facilitate and optimize supply chain planning and execution. LogiMatrix currently operates in Greater China, including Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, providing logistics-related services for customers in a marketplace environment.
FreightMatrix operates in its three targeted geographic regions of the world: the Americas, Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA) and Greater China. It is anticipated that the initial launch of FreightMatrix Greater China in the region will be expanded to other Asian countries later this year.
Through the arrangement, FreightMatrix customers will be able to get visibility throughout their supply chain, regardless of location. FreightMatrix services offer integrated solutions for planning and execution functions. FreightMatrix Greater China will initially be launched in English, with future plans to support local languages.
In China, logistics are up to 30 percent of total product cost almost 20 percent higher than that in developed countries. The need and the room for improvement in logistics operations is sizeable. LogiMatrix intends to make both FreightMatrix's public and private marketplaces available locally.
