Wilton, CT and Dallas July 5, 2001 In an effort to combine data integration and retail coding capabilities, Trade Dimensions and The viaLink Co. today announced the launch of a business solution that integrates synchronized commerce data of record with retail location data between food and consumer packaged goods firms, their retail customers, and service/solution providers.
Trade Dimensions, through its TDLinx retail location database and coding system, delivers current retail location data that enables aggregation, integration and synchronization of dozens of business activities. viaLink's syncLink service allows retailers and suppliers to synchronize item, price, and promotion information electronically, providing trading partners with clean data, a single interface and flexibility to simplify the task of executing commerce. viaLink also offers services that extend the value of synchronized data including scan-down promotions and scan-based trading.
"TDLinx will provide viaLink with a foundation of accurate and maintained retail information on an ongoing basis, and also enable the seamless integration of commerce data with the internal customer files and structures of major manufacturers across the CPG industry," said Scott Taylor, group vice president of sales and marketing for Trade Dimensions.
"The truly collaborative business relationships that our customers seek require supply chain activity to be driven by consumer (demand) purchase behavior," said Lewis "Bucky" Kilbourne, viaLink's chairman and CEO. "Becoming a part of the Trade Dimensions network of leading solution providers creates additional value for our viaLink customers."
