Pleasanton, CA and Cambridge, MA July 9, 2001 PeopleSoft and eRoom Technology today announced a strategic alliance to integrate PeopleSoft Enterprise Service Automation (ESA) with the eRoom Digital Workplace platform. The combined solution will enable service organizations to optimize service business processes and conduct real-time project collaboration in a virtual workplace.
PeopleSoft Enterprise Service Automation is an Internet-based solution that enables service process optimization, including workforce planning, service procurement, project execution, and cost and revenue management. Service organizations, such as professional services, staffing and internal information technology (IT) can utilize PeopleSoft ESA to optimize resources, eliminate manually intensive processes, improve quality of service delivery and increase profits.
eRoom's Digital Workplace extends the functionality of PeopleSoft ESA by providing a central online meeting place and repository for project information, including proposals, project plans, milestones and budgets. The eRoom solution enables employees, customers, suppliers and partners to share ideas, review schedules and assignments, resolve issues, and make real-time decisions, regardless of geographic location.
"Extending collaboration and project execution via the Internet are monumental breakthroughs for project management," said Renee Lorton, vice president and general manager of PeopleSoft Financials and Enterprise Service Automation. "Together, PeopleSoft and eRoom offer a comprehensive solution that systematically links critical project information from multiple sources, dramatically improving the efficiency of global service operations."

"PeopleSoft and eRoom are redefining the services market by incorporating an online, collaborative workplace with the in-depth, service-related functionality of an enterprise system."
