Waltham, MA July 18, 2001 NetCracker Technology, a provider of network infrastructure management solutions, today announced that Connecticut Telephone, the largest independent telecommunications service provider in the state of Connecticut, has implemented NetCracker as a component of its operations support system (OSS) solution.
NetCracker says its service delivery, provisioning and network inventory solutions will help Connecticut Telephone maintain the most efficient customer service network possible with a minimum of effort.
"We looked to NetCracker to help us provide a better value and service to our customers and remain competitive and profitable," said Terry Phillis, chief information officer of Connecticut Telephone. "NetCracker significantly increases the efficiency of our service delivery by automating and streamlining the provisioning process. Furthermore, the NetCracker solution is architected to be future-proof so that we can scale our networks and services to meet the demands of our customers well into the future."
The NetCracker solution automates service provisioning based on an organization's business processes and provisioning algorithms. It uses NetCracker's customer provisioning portal to receive service order requests, an inventory management application to regularly identify and reconcile the physical and logical resources against available capacity and a provisioning module to automate business processes and support flow-through provisioning.
As users initiate requests for new service via their browser, the system automatically builds a procedural path, reserves capacity on both the physical and logical layers of the network, and creates a circuit layout record (CLR) for activation.
"Efficiency and customer service are paramount to Connecticut Telephone's business strategy," said Andrew Feinberg, president and CEO of NetCracker. "Their proactive, customer focused approach to providing convenient, cost effective telecommunication services demands the efficiency and operational support NetCracker's provisioning system offers."
Founded in 1985, Connecticut Telephone currently provides local phone, long distance, cellular, paging and Internet access services to over 110,000 business and residential customers in Connecticut.
