Westborough, MA August 8, 2001 Technology executive William Caffery has joined the board of directors of PurchaseSoft. Caffery was vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of America Online, and previously vice president of technology research and advisory firm Gartner Group. According to PurchaseSoft, Caffery will provide strategic guidance for PurchaseSoft's mission of providing practical procurement solutions that improve ROI, strategic sourcing and inventory management.
"Bill is an outstanding addition to the PurchaseSoft Board, and we're very excited by what his presence on our Board represents for us," said Don LaGuardia, president and CEO of PurchaseSoft. "Bill's proven leadership abilities and technical expertise will greatly strengthen PurchaseSoft's strategic focus.

While at America Online, Caffery directed the reorganization and integration of information technology units with combined budgets of $300 million. At Gartner Group, Caffery held various vice president positions including product development and integration, IT research and development, and service director.
