Seeing Beyond the Integration Barrier

Commerce One and SeeBeyond team up for integration alliance

PLEASANTON & REDWOOD SHORES, CA January 7, 2002 Commerce One and SeeBeyond, a provider of e-business application integration solutions, today announced a strategic alliance designed to help enterprises and their trading partners easily integrate back-office applications with Commerce One solutions.

In addition, Commerce One has named SeeBeyond the company's preferred integration solution provider, and plans to market and sell SeeBeyond eBusiness Application Integration solutions directly to its customers. Commerce One and SeeBeyond also plan to work together on global marketing and sales initiatives, as well as joint development programs for integration solutions.

The joint offering will also make it easier for Commerce One customers to connect their applications with trading partners, facilitating inter-enterprise process automation to streamline the purchasing process. These links will help reduce cycle times and enable better communication between trading partners, which can lead to rapid return on e-commerce investments.

The new integration solutions will also help organizations incorporate existing enterprise data from back-office systems into procurement and sourcing activities, further automating those processes and ensuring that high-quality information is available for procurement decision-making.

"Offering SeeBeyond capabilities as part of Commerce One solutions will make it simpler and less expensive to bring vital information and functionality from ERP and supply chain applications into procurement and sourcing processes," said Manoj Saxena, senior vice president, marketing and business development for Commerce One. "These critical connections will help enterprises accelerate their decision making with trading partners, which can reduce cycle times and speed ROI from their strategic Commerce One sourcing and procurement investments."
