Torrance, CA February 8, 2001 Agribuys, a supply chain integrator for the global food industry, announced today that Vijay Yajnik has joined the company as president and chief operating officer.
Marina Kotsianas, Agribuys' CEO and chairman, said Yajnik is going to be an integral member of the company's senior team. "Vijay brings extensive retail experience to Agribuys; he has a commanding grasp of the retail environment and e-commerce, a thorough understanding of the operating intricacies of IT and deep senior management experience," she said.
Yajnik joins Agribuys from the WorldWide Retail Exchange (WWRE). Prior to that he was Group CIO at the Dairy Farm Group, a major Asian retailer headquartered in Hong Kong. He has held a variety of executive management positions at K-Mart, California Federal Bank, Crocker National Bank and other financial institutions.

Yajnik holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, a MS in Communications and Information Systems from the State University of New York, and a MBA in Marketing and Transportation from Michigan State University.
