Red Bank, New Jersey  February 21, 2002  PurchasingNet announced recently News-Journal has joined the growing number of media/publishing companies implementing the PurchasingNet-SQL solution.

Through the use of the PurchasingNet's Web-based Requisitioning Module, many end-user requests will automatically be sent electronically to preferred suppliers.  This will dramatically reduce the number of transactions handled by the Purchasing Department. The Web-based Requisitioning Module also allows end-users to request MRO items from the company's stockroom.

"If the item being requested is a stock item, PurchasingNet-SQL automatically routes the request to the stockroom where a picklist is generated for the stockroom attendant, " states Andy Russo, Director of Enterprise Solutions at PurchasingNet, Inc.

The Accounts Payable Department will use PurchasingNet to insure PO's and receipt transactions have been processed before paying invoices.
