Prescient Partners with Ross Systems

Supply chain planning specialist to sell flagship suite through process industry solution provider

West Chester, PA July 22, 2002 Software companies Prescient Systems and Ross Systems have partnered to allow Ross to re-sell Prescient's flagship supply chain planning solution globally as part of its iRenaissance enterprise suite of software solutions.

Prescient Systems is a provider of supply chain planning solutions to the consumer products industry, while Ross provides enterprise management software and e-business solutions for process manufacturers.

iRenaissance is an integrated business suite, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management (SCM) and customer-relationship management (CRM) applications. The suite specifically addresses the information needs of process manufacturers, conforming to the way these companies plan, source, make, sell and deliver products.

Prescient's supply chain planning suite, dubbed XEi, spans nine applications within the areas of demand, supply, collaboration and performance measurement, including demand planning; enterprise forecasting; inventory planning; replenishment planning; optimized orders; production planning and production scheduling.

The solution also allows multiple parties, such as manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers, to oversee and participate in supply chain planning. In addition, a supply chain performance measurement suite pulls pertinent information from supply chain applications and back-office systems, including sales and operations planning, and delivers the information to decision-makers in an actionable form.

The two companies said they already share market synergies with their mutual expertise in process industries such as consumer products. Through a North American partnership over the last three years, the companies' shared clients have included Vi-Jon, a manufacturer and distributor of health and beauty products, and Nu-Gro, a developer of high-quality fertilizers, pest control and horticultural products for commercial and consumer use.

"Given Prescient's strengths in consumer products and Ross' position as a respected global presence among process manufacturers, uniting our product functionality is a natural extension that will benefit mid-market companies," said Jane Hoffer, president and CEO of Prescient. "By delivering the Prescient XEi supply chain planning suite through Ross, Prescient achieves an immediate near-global footprint to build on its already-strong presence in the United Kingdom."

Under the terms of the agreement, financial details of which were not disclosed, Prescient XEi will be embedded within Ross' iRenaissance solution under the iRenaissance brand name.
