NTT Group Deploys PeopleSoft

World's largest telecommunications company tackles human capital management

Pleasanton, CA August 21, 2002 The NTT Group, the world's largest telecommunications company, has deployed solution provider PeopleSoft's human capital management (HCM) software for 200,000 users across 108 companies, representing the largest HCM implementation in Japan.

NTT deployed PeopleSoft Human Resources, Global Payroll, Time and Labor, and Collaborative Applications. PeopleSoft said its solutions will enable the NTT Group to cost-effectively manage and mobilize the workforces of more than 100 organizations and will also support a performance-based compensation system implemented across NTT's various companies.

PeopleSoft said its Internet-based solution provides NTT's employees and business partners with real-time access to HCM business processes, reducing operational costs and boosting employee productivity.

"With PeopleSoft HCM we are able to directly connect employees to business processes and value-added HR services, improving the satisfaction and performance of employees across all of our group companies," said Setsuo Sasaki, senior manager in the e-Solution Group at NTT Business Associe Corp., a NTT subsidiary.

NTT Comware, a systems integrator and implementation partner of PeopleSoft Japan, has teamed with NTT Business Associe to deploy the PeopleSoft solution during an implementation that took seven months.

"By deploying PeopleSoft HCM, the NTT Group has reduced its total cost of ownership by 65 percent," said Isamu Yoshida, project manager at NTT Comware Corp. "Furthermore, the NTT Group went live in one-third the time it would have taken with a custom system. This is an enormous achievement and a critical milestone that enabled them to stay on track with their restructuring plan."
