Startup Vet Takes over at XAware

Data integration specialist names ex-CTO of StorageNetworks as new CEO

Colorado Springs, CO October 7, 2002 XML specialist XAware has named tech startup veteran Bill Miller to be the company's new CEO and chairman, effective immediately.

XAware said it develops lightweight, embeddable data integration software components that reduce the complexities of accessing, transforming and integrating disparate data and application resources. The company serves the needs of systems integrators and software suppliers.

Miller, who has 20 years of expertise in the technology sector, received a unanimous stamp of approval from XAware's board of directors.

Most recently, Miller was chief technical officer of StorageNetworks, which he co-founded in 1998. StorageNetworks developed a storage-specific operating system and storage management software applications.

"Through my distributed software experience at StorageNetworks, I gained a deep appreciation for the challenges facing software companies and integrators trying to exchange information while moving to industry standards such as XML," Miller said.

Miller has co-founded three companies, and XAware is the fourth startup corporation with which he has held a senior executive position. Miller is also an engineer and specialist in design and system architecture. He has managed the design and development of systems and software technology for companies such as Philips Electronics and National Semiconductor.
