Coppell, TX October 15, 2002 Clear Technologies Inc. this week named Van Symons to lead sales efforts for C2, its mid-market Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software package.
As vice president of C2 Sales, Symons said he will apply the experience he gained during his 25-year career at IBM selling enterprise technologies to expand Clear's share of the $40-billion CRM software market for small- to mid-size businesses.
After joining IBM in 1977 as a systems engineer, Symons' performance earned him greater leadership in a series of senior marketing roles, including responsibility for global eServer product line strategy for IBM. Symons received numerous awards during his tenure with IBM, including the President's Award.
Clear's C2 software package is a Web-based, 30-module CRM solution that is customized to client requirements. Mid-sized organizations like Maxim Crane and Aiphone, as well as several IBM divisions, currently use C2.
C2 runs on the IBM eServer iSeries, pSeries and xSeries hardware platforms and related operating systems, which were among Symons' specialties when he developed business intelligence and CRM strategies for IBM's Server Group.
"Van Symons knows the business of selling enterprise solutions from the ground up," said Greg Colley, president, CEO and founder of Clear Technologies. "His talent for designing software sales strategy around the needs of the customer is ideal for the mid-market, where companies demand customized solutions and a rapid return on their technology investments."
Van Symons earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
