PeopleSoft Debuts Four New Apps

Targets financial consolidations, investment decision support, catalog management and supplier ratings

Pleasanton, CA December 16, 2002 On the heels of the recent upgrade of its customer relationship management solution, software company PeopleSoft today offered up four new solutions targeting financial consolidations, project investment decision support, catalog management and supplier ratings.

Global Consolidations, part of the provider's Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) suite, allows corporations to consolidate and analyze financial data from multiple organizations in real-time, helping them to address the changing and increasing number of regulatory and reporting requirements.

The solution, which is available immediately, creates a single reporting system that runs on multiple platforms, reducing the time and effort required to consolidate and report company results, facilitating consolidated statutory reporting and compliance with global and local accounting requirements. The application integrates with business planning, budgeting and performance data from other PeopleSoft applications.

Project Portfolio Management, a new analytic solution within PeopleSoft's Enterprise Service Automation (ESA) suite, combined with the new ESA Warehouse, a central data repository plus reporting and analysis tool, enables companies to prioritize project investment decisions and consolidate data for more accurate insight into project, resource and expense costs, the provider said.

The solutions, also available immediately, can help organizations choose projects with the best fit to their strategic goals, as well as the highest return on investment (ROI), and then manage those projects to successful completion, PeopleSoft asserted.

"PeopleSoft's new analytics solutions give senior executives the tools to make smarter investment decisions," said Renee Lorton, senior vice president and general manager of PeopleSoft Financial Management Solutions. "They also allow companies to hold program and line managers accountable for day-to-day project and resource decisions."

The Catalog Management and Supplier Rating System solutions allow companies to bring these processes online. Catalog Management allows companies to import catalog content from suppliers in multiple formats, with the payback coming in the form of reduced administrative costs and errors in pricing or item duplication. In addition, Catalog Management automatically imports supplier catalog updates in a variety of formats and allows suppliers to make changes to catalogs directly.

The Supplier Rating System enables business managers to track supplier performance using more than 80 criteria, such as product quality, invoice accuracy, delivery reliability and price. Supplier performance is presented in customized portals to both purchasing agents and suppliers. The solution is intended to give purchasing agents insight into supplier performance to make more informed sourcing decisions, while suppliers can better identify ways to improve their offering and execution to compete more effectively for future contracts.
